MSU Takes 15th OVC Championship

The Murray State Racers’ Men’s Basketball team won their 15th Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Championship Saturday night with a 54 to 52 win over Tennessee State at Nashville’s Municipal Arena.  The victory brings MSU’s season record to 30 and 1, as well as a 15th appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the Racers as the OVC’s automatic bid.  Murray State Forward Donte Pool was named the OVC Tournament’s Most Valuable Player.

Todd Hatton hails from Paducah, Kentucky, where he got into radio under the auspices of the late, great John Stewart of WKYX while a student at Paducah Community College. He also worked at WKMS in the reel-to-reel tape days of the early 1990s before running off first to San Francisco, then Orlando in search of something to do when he grew up. He received his MFA in Creative Writing at Murray State University. He vigorously resists adulthood and watches his wife, Angela Hatton, save the world one plastic bottle at a time.
