The Murray State Racers start their 2012 NCAA men's basketball tournament run in Louisville tomorrow morning. They face off against the Mountain West Conference’s Colorado State Rams. The Racers went 30- 1 for the season, earning them a 6 seed from the Tournament Selection Committee. While the seed is relatively high for a one loss team, Racers Coach Steve Prohm says he thinks the decision was based more on the venue than their reputation. He says,
“If they put us as a 6 seed because of location, then I hope we do have 7-8 thousand, 9 thousand fans from Murray come over and support us. I hope we have the state really come over and support us to really make that worthwhile.”
Racer Guard Donte Poole says the team is confident about the matchup with the Rams, and they expect a lot of support from fans across the state. The game tips off tomorrow morning at 11:15.
