Richie Farmer's house to be auctioned Sept. 24

The one-time Frankfort home of former state Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer will be sold at auction later this month to help satisfy a foreclosure lawsuit against him.  Franklin Circuit Court Master Commissioner Charlie Jones says the auction will be held September 24th at the temporary county courthouse. Farmer faces a foreclosure lawsuit on a mortgage loan of more than $317,000 plus interest.  Since leaving office in 2011, Farmer has gotten divorced, been the subject of a scathing audit accusing him of misusing state workers and resources for personal gain and has yet to find employment.  Farmer’s attorney Guthrie True says the audit was politically motivated.

Todd Hatton hails from Paducah, Kentucky, where he got into radio under the auspices of the late, great John Stewart of WKYX while a student at Paducah Community College. He also worked at WKMS in the reel-to-reel tape days of the early 1990s before running off first to San Francisco, then Orlando in search of something to do when he grew up. He received his MFA in Creative Writing at Murray State University. He vigorously resists adulthood and watches his wife, Angela Hatton, save the world one plastic bottle at a time.
